Mental Health Workshops and Training in Tulsa
Counseling is not the only way we show up in Oklahoma.
Alongside our counseling practice, we take on events, professional development, and partnerships, to equip God's people for works of service. We are also open to continuing education partnerships with organizations serving the Oklahoma mental health community. What that looks like depends on who is asking, so the first step is a conversation rather than a package.

What we take on
Events
Speaking and sessions for gatherings your organization is already running.
Professional development
Training for teams who work with people carrying hard things.
Continuing education
Open to CEU partnerships with organizations serving the Oklahoma mental health community.
Partnerships
Longer arrangements with organizations we work alongside more than once.
Format, length, and cost are worked out per organization. Tell us what your group is dealing with and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
Small rooms, real work
How Our Workshops Actually Run
These are not lecture halls. They are small groups doing the same kind of work we ask of our clients, which is part of why therapists keep coming back to them.
Kept small on purpose
Groups are deliberately limited so nobody sits at the back. The cap is listed on each workshop, and our Story Workshop retreats have run with eight participants.
Retreat format
Some run overnight, checking in one evening and finishing the following afternoon, so the work has room to settle rather than being squeezed into a lunch hour.
Continuing education
Some of our workshops carry CEU credits. Where they do, the number is stated on that workshop. The Story Workshop retreat carries six.
Story work, faith included
The core of it is examining your own story honestly, with Scripture, guided prayer, journaling, and breath work as part of the process.
Led by our own clinicians
Our Story Workshop retreats are presented by Dr. Roselene Coblentz, Ph.D., LMFT. You are learning from someone who does this work with clients, not a guest speaker.
Held at our Tulsa office
7134 South Yale Avenue, Suite 450. Materials and most meals are included, and what is covered is listed on each workshop.
Dates, cost, group size, and CEU credits change from one workshop to the next. Whatever is currently open is listed further down this page, and if nothing is scheduled you are welcome to ask us to let you know when the next one opens.

Who leads these
Dr. Roselene Coblentz, Ph.D., LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, author, and the presenter of our Story Workshop retreats.
Dr. Coblentz has been in private practice for twenty years, doing story work with adults, with men and women, and with couples, across a great many different stories. The material in these workshops is not theory she read somewhere. It is the work she does in the room, every week, taught to the people who do it too.
She has written two books, Daily Habits of Intimacy with God and Daily Habits of Marital Intimacy, both available on Amazon.
You and your story are a worthy pursuit. For such a time as this, say yes to you, and to all the hope, help, and healing that is available for you.

Need Help? We’ve Got Answers

Are the workshops faith-based, or is faith optional the way it is in your counseling?
Faith runs through these all the way down. The material works from Scripture, guided prayer, and your spiritual relationship with Jesus. That is different from our counseling, where faith is optional and you set the depth. If a faith-based framework is not what you are looking for professionally, these workshops will not be the right fit.
Is attending a workshop the same as being in therapy with you?
No. A workshop is education, not treatment. Attending does not make you a client and does not create a therapeutic relationship, and it is not a substitute for your own counseling. Plenty of people who attend already have a counselor, and this work often gives them something worth bringing to that person.
Do you travel to deliver training, or is it always at your office?
The workshops we list on this page run at our Tulsa office. Training delivered at your organization is a separate arrangement, and one we are open to. Tell us who your group is and what you want covered, and we will tell you honestly whether it is something we can do well.
What do I need to bring?
Notes and handouts are provided, so materials are covered. Anything else included, meals in particular, is listed with each workshop, and where something is on you we say so. Beyond that, bring what you would want for a day of personal work, which for most people is just something to write with.
Can a practice send more than one person?
Seats are individual and the groups are kept small on purpose, so several people from one practice take a real share of the room. That is not a problem, but say so up front so we can plan around it. If you want a session for your team alone, that is the organizational training route instead.
